  • Umpire development in 2012

    A strong focus this season will be on developing coaching skills in our current umpires, building our umpire numbers and developing skills in our existing umpires.  Campbelltown is fortunate in that we have a very experienced team of convenors and national umpires who have put together a comprehensive range of structured events and programs to assist in developing our umpires.

    HAVE-A-GO
    A free program for newbies of all ages, from all clubs registered with CDNA, held every Wednesday night from 6:30pm to 8:00pm led by very experienced national umpires. Attendees must be of umpiring age i.e turning 12 by 31/12/2012. Bring a whistle and rule book. Wear comfortable training clothes and appropriate shoes.  Bookings are essential.  To register contact Linda Kable at teamwhitelegs@live.com.au or sms your name, club and age to 0414 960 368.  A wait list will be created, if necessary, for intakes in the second half of the season.

    Umpire Development Clinic (THIS IS NEW THIS YEAR)
    March 3rd from 9am to 3pm for badged umpires. Cost is $10 to be paid on the day and a light lunch will be provided. Bring a whistle, rule book and water. Please wear your whites. Topics to be covered include positioning, vision, voice, discipline, setting penalties and working with your fellow umpire.  Bookings are essential.  To register contact Michael Seery at michael_seery@ipart.nsw.gov.au or on 0418 768 708.

    Coaching Umpires
    For convenors and/or experienced umpires to learn tips and techniques in coaching umpires.  To be held in conjunction with the Umpire Development Clinic.  You will be buddied up with an experienced coach for the day.  Cost is $10 and a light lunch will be provided.  Bookings are essential.  To register contact Michael Seery.

    Level 1 Accreditation - an essential requirement to umpire competition games at CDNA
    Saturday March 17th 9am to 1pm
    Friday April 20th 9am to 1pm
    Cost is $25 to be billed to your club (this is a reduced cost as the Association offsets some of the cost).  Bookings are essential.  To register contact Michael Seery at michael_seery@ipart.nsw.gov.au or on 0418 768 708.
     
    Rep Carnivals
    Rep carnivals are an excellent opportunity to develop your umpiring skills and meet fellow umpires from across NSW.  Expressions of interest to umpire at rep carnivals should be directed to Michael Seery at michael_seery@ipart.nsw.gov.au or on 0418 768 708.

    B Camp (conducted by Netball NSW)

    February 18 and 19 at Anne Clark Centre for all National B badged umpires ($170). 

    C Camp (condcuted by by Netball NSW)

    March 10 and 11 at Anne Clark Centre for all National C badged umpires ($170).

  • Campbelltown player selected in Australian Indigenous team

    Campbelltown State Age representative player Sheriden Etto has been selected in the Australian Indigenous Schoolgirls Team. Sheriden who will be playing in the 14 Years team at State Age this year was selected following the National Championships that were played on the Gold Coast in January 2012.
